Google Cloud as a basis for scalable companies

Our DNA is 100% Google focus: We make Google Cloud the engine of your business. From agile microservices to Agentic AI, we modernize your IT in line with EU compliance. Thanks to zero trust and pay-per-use, you cut costs and work at top speed — scalable, secure, sovereign. And when contracts expire or deadlines loom, we run the numbers with you on what Google saves you, instead of renewing at a premium.

Insights

The questions that come up before every cloud decision

In many companies, IT has grown historically over the years: licenses pile up, databases sit in isolation, interfaces have to be maintained manually. What once worked has become an expensive drag on productivity — and several support deadlines are expiring at the same time.

Concise answers to the four questions that come up in every decision process.

Google Cloud as a basis for scalable companies

Why switch now — and not just before the deadline?

Because support deadlines are non-negotiable and several expire at once. Starting shortly before the cutoff means migrating under time pressure, paying for expensive extended support and forfeiting potential migration funding. Using deadlines as a planned trigger is cheaper than any emergency migration.

More details

Every renewal only buys time — at rising cost and with no modernization effect. For qualified projects we assess Google migration funding and funded proofs of concept. The key deadlines at a glance:

  • Exchange 2016/2019 — support ended 14 Oct 2025, no more security patches.
  • SQL Server 2016 — end of support reached on 14 Jul 2026.
  • Windows Server 2016 — final deadline 12 Jan 2027.
  • SAP ECC — mainstream maintenance ends 31 Dec 2027.
  • VMware/Broadcom — restructured license models, sharply rising prices.

What does Google Cloud cost — and how do costs become predictable?

Honestly: cloud gets expensive when nobody steers it. Across the industry, 30–35% of cloud spend is considered waste. That's why we start every migration with FinOps from day one — budgets, a committed-use strategy, rightsizing and clear cost allocation per team.

More details

The business case is built before the migration: In the TCO & license review, we compare your current license, maintenance and hardware costs against real Google Cloud costs — including the deadline and Broadcom effect. CFO-ready, no sales slides.

  • FinOps from day one: cost control is part of the architecture, not an afterthought report.
  • Predictability: committed use discounts & budget alerts instead of surprise invoices.

How does the migration succeed without business disruption?

With a prioritized roadmap instead of a big bang: We migrate step by step in clear stages, test each one before cutover and keep rollback paths open. VMware workloads move almost unchanged via Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) — day-to-day business keeps running, and you modernize afterwards at your own pace.

More details
  • Assessment & discovery: automated inventory of all workloads, dependencies and license costs.
  • Parallel operation & cutover: data is replicated, switchover happens only after successful testing — with a rollback option.
  • Hypercare & handover: we stabilize after each stage, then regular operations begin — as Managed GCP by us, if you wish.

Is Google Cloud GDPR-compliant — how sovereign is our data?

Yes — with the right setup: EU data regions in Europe, EU standard contractual clauses and a BSI C5:2020 attestation for core services. What matters is the architecture: We configure data residency, encryption with your own key sovereignty and access controls according to your individual risk requirements.

More details

For elevated sovereignty requirements, Google offers tiered options — from Sovereign Controls with external key management to Google Cloud Dedicated — the dedicated sovereign cloud that Thales and Google Cloud have been building in Germany since May 2026: operated by an independent German Thales entity, region in the Berlin area under German law, preview available, general availability planned for the end of 2026. Which tier you really need is what we clarify in the Sovereignty Check: usually an EU data region plus customer key management is enough — regulatorily robust, without the premium of the highest tier.

Benefits

Cloud migration with strategy

We analyse your existing infrastructure and decide together which systems we will migrate, modernize or replace with new solutions — end to end, from your own data center or from other hyperscalers. Based on this, we develop a secure, scalable cloud base in accordance with Google best practices. Security, cost management and EU compliance are incorporated into the architecture design right from the start.

This turns a forced migration into a modernization gain: including access to the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (GEAP) and — for qualified projects — funded proofs of concept.

Innovation speed

New services and AI agents are quickly integrated and operational.

Infrastructure costs

Reduce your **Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)** through pay-per use instead of fixed hardware investments.

Zero Trust Security

Reliable protection of sensitive information through consistently regulated access.

Honest advice

When Google Cloud is not the right answer

We are a Google partner — but consultants first. We address these three situations openly in the intro call, before you migrate:

Deep Microsoft integration

If your stack is built end to end on .NET, Active Directory and Microsoft licenses with Azure hybrid benefits, Azure may be the more economical choice. We run that comparison honestly in the TCO review — and tell you if that's the case.

Hard on-premises requirements

Some regulatory or technical requirements (latency, machine connectivity, specific mandates) force local operation. Then we build hybrid — cloud where it creates value, on-prem where it has to be.

Migration without an operating model

A migration without FinOps, security operations and clear responsibilities only relocates problems. Without an operating model after cutover, the savings evaporate — which is why Managed GCP is part of the full picture with us.

FAQ

Google Cloud migration — answered briefly

How long does a migration to Google Cloud take?

Individual workloads or a funded proof of concept go live in a few weeks; mid-sized full landscapes typically migrate in several stages over 3–9 months. In the assessment you get a realistic roadmap with milestones — especially with a view to your deadlines such as Windows Server 2016 (12 Jan 2027) or SAP ECC (31 Dec 2027).

Can we bring our VMware workloads without rebuilding everything?

Yes. With Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), your vSphere workloads keep running almost unchanged — same tools, same processes, but without Broadcom price risk and your own hardware. To be honest: for some landscapes, Proxmox, Nutanix or Hyper-V are also valid exits — and lifting the wrong workloads into the cloud can end up more expensive than Broadcom. That is exactly what we check per workload in the TCO review. GCVE is the fast exit path; you then modernize step by step where it pays off.

What happens to our SAP system?

SAP ECC leaves mainstream maintenance on 31 Dec 2027. Google Cloud is a certified platform for SAP workloads — we migrate your existing SAP systems and build the target platform on which a later move to S/4HANA (for example as SAP Cloud ERP Private Edition) runs cleanly. The S/4HANA transformation itself belongs to your SAP partner — we deliver infrastructure, operations and the data connection to BigQuery for analytics.

Aren't we just trading one lock-in for the next?

The risk can be limited architecturally: Google Cloud relies heavily on open standards — Kubernetes, open-source databases, open data formats. If you use containers instead of proprietary PaaS services and keep data in open formats, you stay portable. We make lock-in risks explicitly visible in the architecture review so you can decide consciously.

Is there funding for the migration?

For qualified projects there is Google migration funding and funded proofs of concept — for assessments, migration efforts or pilot projects, for example. Whether and to what extent your project qualifies is what we assess in the intro call. The TCO & license review is always the first step, regardless.

What about our Oracle databases?

Oracle workloads now also run natively in Google Cloud (Oracle Database@Google Cloud) — or you modernize to PostgreSQL-compatible managed databases and permanently reduce license costs. Which path pays off becomes clear from a look at your Oracle contracts in the license review.

Who operates the environment after the migration?

Either your team — enabled and trained by us — or we do, as your Managed GCP partner: 24/7 operations, FinOps, security monitoring and continuous optimization. Many customers start with us running operations and gradually take over themselves once internal know-how is built up.
